Do I have to be a member of the BWYC for my child/grandchild/etc. to register for sailing camp?
All interested sailors are welcome to attend; however a BWYC member must sponsor the camper. Contact Sailing Director, Todd Edwards, at [email protected], for more information.
How early should I sign up for BWYC summer camp?
As soon as possible, classes tend to fill up quickly. Registration can be found on the home page via a link or paper applications may be picked up at the BWYC club office.
I think I have registered my child, but how can I confirm it?
When registration is completed, a confirmation email is sent to the address you provided. If you did not receive a confirmation, contact the Sailing Director.
What should my child bring to camp?Your sailor will need a lifejacket that fits, sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, closed toe water shoes, towel, change of clothes, sunglasses, bathing suit and a bag to keep their belongings organized.
What will my child learn during BWYC Summer Camp?
New and returning sailors are going to learn parts of the boat, sails and rigging as well as basic knots. Along with this they will also learn water safety, sportsmanship, and teamwork. They will be taught the fundamentals of sailing by US Sailing Certified Coaches.
