  • Fleet Review
    • 2019 BWYC Fleet Review Ceremony

The “Review of the Fleet” is the celebration of the opening of the yachting season, and was begun almost 40 years ago. The celebration begins with a flag raising. This will be followed by a brief ceremony presided over by Commodore Eugene Schmitt, in which he will recognize Past Commodores, the Current Flag Officers and Board Members, as well as the Junior Officers. Outstanding sailing accomplishments of the previous season will be recounted and a few comments made.

The actual “Review of the Fleet” follows. All participating boats, sail and power, will be led out of the harbor by Fleet Captain Kippy Chamberlain on the BWYC Club Boat to parade in circles in front of the pier. Each boat is judged on the basis of the imagination and ingenuity of its decorations, and humorous prizes are awarded to the winners. All boat owners are urged to participate, so begin now to plan how you will “deck out” your boat.
