Ernest La Rocca Jr., CCM, CCE

General Manager
Prior to joining Bay Waveland Yacht Club, Ernie was the General Manager of The Ocean Club in Atlantic Beach NY and previous to that Roton Point Association in Rowayton CT. Ernie has advanced through a series of progressively senior and challenging management opportunities at several Golf and Country clubs throughout his career. Originally from Queens, NY, Ernie and his wife of 35 years, Marisa have relocated to Long Beach, MS to be closer to their four children and two grandchildren. Ernie comes to club with over 40 years of management experience.

Carrie Lee Kelly

Food & Beverage Manager
Carrie Lee began her career working for the Wynne family in Dallas, Texas with projects like 8.0 and the Flying Saucer. Shortly thereafter she then worked under Alberto Lombardi and the Lombardi Family with multi-level concepts throughout the Greater Dallas and Miami areas. She then collaborated with Julie Campbell, Rob Morley and Brooke Humphries, top restaurateurs and mixologists in Dallas with Pints & Quarts, Bacardia, Beauty bar and Club M.I.N.C., Traveling to the gulf coast after Katrina, Carrie Lee came back to the industry as area trainer for HGI for Shular Inc. and then onward to F & B Manager at Four Points by Sheraton before joining BWYC.

Michelle Chiasson

Our Bookkeeper of nearly 4 years, Michelle Chiasson, has been a lifelong resident of Hancock County. She resides in Waveland with her Husband Corey, and children Jordan and Kaitlyn. She has experience locally in the private sector, public sector and non-profits. Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in accounting, payroll and small business management. She has recently been accepted to The University of Southern Mississippi where she will pursue her Business Management Degree. Michelle enjoys the coast, the beach and spending time with her family.

Rives Allen

Sailing Director
Rives was born and raised in Panama City, Florida. He and his family have been involved in the GYA since 1933 as members at St. Andrew's Bay Yacht Club. His father and mother (still the one and only female) were both commodores at StABYC.  Rives has been coaching sailing for the last 4 years and has a passion for teaching. As a child he would spend many weekends here at BWYC sailing with his parents and feels that part of  him grew up at our Yacht Club. He is eager to be a part of the team here at BWYC!


Zay Morris

Executive Chef
A native of Shannon, Mississippi, Zay Morris found his calling to cuisine while a business student at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). After college he embraced his new career with passion. Cooking in a few upscale Italian and Contemporary dining places throughout Mississippi. In 2013 he moved to New Orleans to expand his palette to native French & Coastal seafood cuisines that are known in Louisiana.

While in New Orleans, Zay worked directly under the tutelage of several James Beard Award winning chefs & restaurants. Zay decided it was time to set his own path so that led to him being named Sous Chef/Pastry Chef at Restaurant Des Famillies in Marrero, LA. This was followed by stops at Delachaise Wine Bar & local Italian bistro C&C where he served as Chef De Cuisine before returning back to New Orleans. Now after 11 years he’s excited to bring his extensive palette, wine knowledge, & culinary chops to the Bay Waveland Yacht Club as Executive Chef.

Hillary Henley

Sous Chef
Born and raised in South Mississippi, Hillary discovered her passion for cooking as a young girl in her grandmother’s kitchen cooking for veterans. Hillary began her career in the heart of Bay St. Louis, working under various locally renowned chefs, honing her skills in the fundamentals and principles of gourmet dining, as well as providing 5-star experiences.

She eventually migrated to New Orleans and worked under some of the best chefs the country has to offer. She developed an international palate and repertoire for recognizing and mastering challenging dishes. This resulted in her not only growing in skill as a chef, but also as a leader. At the age of 25, she’s recognized by many people in the Gulf Coast gourmet culinary industry as one of the area’s most ambitious young chefs.
