Prior to joining Bay Waveland Yacht Club, Ernie was the General Manager of The Ocean Club in Atlantic Beach NY and previous to that Roton Point Association in Rowayton CT. Ernie has advanced through a series of progressively senior and challenging management opportunities at several Golf and Country clubs throughout his career. Originally from Queens, NY, Ernie and his wife of 40 years, Marisa have relocated to Long Beach, MS to be closer to their four children and four grandchildren. Ernie comes to club with over 40 years of management experience.

Wes Debenport
Executive Chef
As a native of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, Chef Wes Debenport was raised with a deep appreciation of Gulf Coast and New Orleans cuisine. His culinary career began at age sixteen, giving him over twenty years of experience in the kitchen. He attended Bay High School and St. Stanislaus College and graduated from USM with a degree in Culinary Arts. After Katrina, he made his way to Canada where he worked at Bernadino’s Italian Bistro and learned the art of fine Italian cuisine, as well as mastered the roles of Potager and Grillardin. Prior to joining the BWYC staff, he served as Chef de Cuisine and Kitchen Manager at Bacchus on the Beach in Pass Christian, MS. His culinary specialties include French-Creole, classic New Orleans, and Italian cuisine.
He has fond memories of chowing down on a Flying Scot burger at the BWYC as a kid. Wes resides in Bay St. Louis and devotes his time from work to fishing, grocery shopping, and creating delicious meals for his wife and daughter.
